Nara Prefecture and CAMPFIRE have launched a crowdfunding project to support the preservation and inheritance of cultural properties.Summary
CAMPFIRE, a crowdfunding service provider, has partnered with Nara Prefecture to launch the 'Nara's Hometown Cultural Properties Support Project' with the support of the 'satofuru' hometown tax portal. Out of 37 projects in Nara Prefecture, the first 7 are now accepting donations through CAMPFIRE's special page. Donations (excluding administrative fees) are added to the prefecture's regular subsidies and provided to cultural property owners. The projects target nationally and prefecturally designated cultural properties, including historic buildings, art crafts, folk cultural assets, and historical sites. Specific initiatives include shrine hall repairs, fire prevention equipment installation, traditional festival tool procurement, and historical sword polishing. The project aims to create sustainable preservation systems while fostering regional interest and intergenerational awareness. Donors can also benefit from income tax refunds and resident tax deductions.
