Summary
Professor Riko Imamashi's eighth installment of the "Transcending Beauty" series in the Mainichi Shimbun reviews the exhibition “Yuzuki Samiro: Eternity Now.” Yuzuki Samiro, who passed away in January 2024 at the age of 101, was a textile dyer who studied under Serizawa Keisuke, a master of stencil dyeing. He produced a wide range of artworks, from textile crafts to picture books and interior designs, over a career spanning 70 years. He also served as the president of Women's College of Fine Arts and contributed to the education of many female artists. The exhibition, which inadvertently became a posthumous exhibition, allows visitors to trace the artist’s journey through his numerous “quotes” and works.
