Aizu Hachiyō Memorial Museum Collection Exhibition PART 2, Oct 9, 2026 (Fri) – Jan 31, 2027 (Sun)
Summary
The Aizu Hachiyō Memorial Museum houses roughly 50,000 works of art and academic materials, and it publicly displays them through special and permanent exhibitions. This exhibition brings together Oriental antiquities—such as Chinese ancient roof tiles, terracotta figures, bronze mirrors, and stone rubbings—archaeological and ethnic artifacts—including Egyptian relics, bronze items from East and Southeast Asia, and Ainu ethnic materials—and Japanese works from the early modern period to contemporary times, all displayed under the theme "Decoration." The former permanent exhibition space was closed during a major renovation in 2019 and repurposed as the Grand Gallery for special projects; this exhibition reunites diverse collections in a single room, aiming to offer visitors fresh encounters and enjoyment.
