A 'Dream House' Where Architecture, Art, and Fashion Intersect: House of Dior Osaka
Summary
The new House of Dior in Osaka, located along the Midosuji corridor, presents a facade designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. The undulating white exterior evokes the draping and layering of Christian Dior's haute couture gowns, creating delicate shadows by day and glowing softly at night. Inside, architect Peter Marino has designed a four-story space featuring parquet floors reminiscent of Versailles and soft-toned interiors that express respect for nature and craftsmanship. A large sculpture titled "Twister Again 9 Feet" by American artist Alice Aycock hangs from the grand staircase, giving the impression of swirling energy running through the building. The boutique is notable for being constructed around 40 artworks, creating a 'dream house' where architecture, art, and fashion intersect.
