A bronze statue of Tadamasa Hayashi (1853–1906), an art dealer from Takaoka who played a pivotal role in the "Japonisme" movement while based in Paris, has been completed. The project was led by a volunteer committee that raised funds via crowdfunding to commemorate the 120th anniversary of his passing. The half-body statue, created by sculptor Hokuyu Narahara, will be installed in the courtyard of the Takaoka Art Museum, with an unveiling ceremony scheduled for the 5th.
