Yayoi Kusama's stone sculpture exhibition begins at The Hakone Open-Air Museum, alongside a white balloon installation indoors
Summary
The Hakone Open-Air Museum in Kanagawa Prefecture has newly acquired and debuted Yayoi Kusama’s stone sculpture, "My Soul Blooms Forever" (2013). This piece is notable as Kusama’s first-ever stone sculpture and the only one of its kind currently on view in Japan. In addition to the outdoor installation, a large-scale pumpkin balloon installation is featured in the indoor facility, "Kitoki." The display area was specially designed to allow for 360-degree viewing while harmonizing with the surrounding landscape, reflecting the artist’s message of eternal love.
