Traveling Through Time via Artworks: Collection Exhibition at Hiroshima City Contemporary Art Museum
Summary
The Hiroshima City Contemporary Art Museum is hosting a collection exhibition themed “Time,” showcasing 60 works that convey messages of peace. The show runs until September 23 and includes pieces such as Maruki Iri and her wife Shun’s “原爆―ひろしまの図,” which depicts Hiroshima immediately after the atomic bombing, and Kawahara Oto’s “One Million Years,” a book marking a span of one million years. Works by past Hiroshima Prize recipients, including Leon Gorbachev’s “Vietnam III,” are also on display. Curator Matsuoka Takashi encourages visitors to layer memories over the time themes in the works, and admission is 350 ¥ for adults, with reduced rates for students and free entry for children under 12; cancellation during the free period incurs no fee.
