Special Exhibition "Hyperrealism: Hoki Museum Masterpieces"
Summary
The Hoki Museum, which opened in 2010 as the world's first museum dedicated to realistic painting, will hold a special exhibition featuring selected works from its collection.
The exhibition will showcase 64 masterpieces, including works by leading Japanese hyperrealist artists such as Sosuke Morimoto and Hiroshi Noda, as well as prominent artists in the museum's collection like Nobuyuki Shimamura and Osamu Obie, alongside talented mid-career and emerging artists like Ryo Shioya and Kei Mieko.
Visitors can experience a world of astonishing hyperrealism where paintings feel as real as, or even more realistic than, actual objects. The exhibition runs from August 4 to September 27, 2026.
