Editorial Notes... 46 - Bullet Tour
Summary
The author executed a day trip bullet tour from their base in Kansai to Tokyo and Nagano to catch exhibitions whose runtimes were ending. The journey began by taking an early morning Shinkansen to Tokyo to visit the exhibition "Jam Session: The Ishibashi Foundation Collection x Chika Koyama x Rieko Shiga: Driftage" at the Artizon Museum. The viewing, especially of Chika Koyama's complex video installation, took longer than expected. Afterward, the author traveled to Nagano Prefecture to see the large-scale retrospective of photographer Keizo Kitajima, "Keizo Kitajima Photo Exhibition: Borrowed Place, Borrowed Time" at the Nagano Prefectural Museum of Art. This exhibition successfully traced Kitajima's 50-year career, showing a seamless transition from his early snapshot work to his current solid style. The tour concluded with a quick meal of soba noodles before catching the evening Shinkansen back.
