"Warmth" Theme Sculptures and Paintings: Fukui University Art Department Graduation Exhibition at City Museum
Summary
The graduation exhibition for the Department of Art at Fukui University's Faculty of Education has begun at the Fukui City Museum and will run until February 3rd, showcasing powerful works including sculptures and paintings by five fourth-year students. This year's theme is "Warmth" (温), reflecting the students' desire to warm the hearts of viewers and serve as a catalyst to turn on the viewers' inner switch. Each student created works based on their research theme. For example, Rina Takazawa (22) researched "three-dimensional expression based on her view of life and death," exhibiting large-scale sculptures of a "hand" and a "cat" created by stacking insulation material and shaping it with a hot-wire cutter. The cat sculpture symbolizes a "place of peace where the soul returns."
