The exhibition "Art of the Kami Group—Avant-Garde Artists Gathered in Suwa 1969–1974" is currently being held at the Ina City Hall in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture, until March 1st. The exhibition is the result of research led by Mayumi Kiuchi, a curator at the hall, who previously organized a major exhibition on the artist Yū Matsuzawa (1922–2006). The project is jointly supervised by post-war art researcher Shuhei Hosoya. The term "Kami Group" (Kami-ha) was used by some critics and artists to describe the non-material expressions and records primarily using paper by the avant-garde artists centered around Matsuzawa in the Suwa area, though Kiuchi emphasizes that the artists themselves did not use this term.
