Books and Art Exhibition vol.6 Tracing.
Summary
This exhibition presents works created by 'tracing' objects mediated by words, such as literary works and news. 'Tracing' in this context means 'following, receiving, and rebirthing' an object through each respective method. The exhibition showcases the attempts of three artists: Natsuki Ooshi and Ryo Orikasa, who trace literary works, and Yuma Matsumoto, who traces news of events spreading in society. Their methods of expression range widely, including painting, installation, animation, lithography, and manga. In recent times, with the ubiquity of the internet and SNS, words and images are rapidly consumed and integrated into algorithms, prompting further consumption. This exhibition aims to provide an opportunity to slowly face the manifestation of words and images, and to reflect once again on the imagination and creativity inherent in words.
