The photo festival "Asama International Photo Festival 2026 PHOTO MIYOTA" will be held in Miyota Town, Nagano Prefecture. The event will take place from August 1st to September 27th. In its seventh year, the festival will expand its exhibition areas throughout the town, featuring the cultural complex MMoP as the main venue to create a more immersive program. The "Asama International Photo Festival" began in 2018 as a festival of art photography. Centered on "PHOTO MIYOTA" held in Miyota Town, Nagano Prefecture, it has been held in various areas at the foot of Mount Asama, including Karuizawa and Komoro. In addition to exhibitions by domestic and international photographers, workshops, photography classes, and markets have been held. Last year, approximately 33,000 people visited, a record high. This year, in addition to the main venue MMoP, exhibitions will be held at multiple locations in the town, including the library, the multi-purpose cultural facility "Ecole Miyota" which houses the Asama Jomon Museum, the co-working space Gokalab, and the community center (Nishi Karuizawa Second). The festival aims to provide an experience of touring the entire town of Miyota as the venue.
