The 'Art Spot in Kohoku' project, initiated by Shiga Prefectural Museum of Art in 2025, features a second-phase exhibition in Bairen-machi, Shiga Prefecture, showcasing the works of artist Kinushi Tetsuhisa. The exhibition, titled 'Kinushi Tetsuhisa Smoke and Mist Middle Mountain Road Bairen-machi,' will run from October 3 to December 13. It explores themes of 'smoke and mist'—symbolizing the fusion of human-made and natural phenomena—to examine boundaries between reality and imagination. The project spans three cities (Kōshima, Bairen, and Nagahama) over three years, connecting local landscapes, history, and culture with contemporary art. Kinushi, a Kyoto-born sculptor and professor, uses collage-like techniques to merge objects and explore themes of time, context, and human connection. The exhibition includes site-specific installations and participatory workshops.
