【Tokyo】Deep in the Sway
Summary
"Deep in the Sway," currently held at The 5th Floor in Tokyo, presents the work of four artists who engage with the act of "listening" to voices, songs, narratives, and cries. The voices they capture carry contexts of deviation from existing world orders, patriarchy, practices of collective care, and escape from the state, resonating complexly through history. The exhibition proposes both listening to these voices and considering them as concrete practices of resilient and flexible resistance to reality. It also questions the subjectivity and ethics of the act of "listening" and the distance between the listener and the voice. The exhibition is curated by Tomoya Iwata, and features artists Andrius Arčikauskas, Anurak Tannyakul, AFSAR (Asian Feminist Studio for Art and Research), and Prajakta Potnis. The exhibition runs from February 21st to May 10th, 2026.
