The Chushin Art Exhibition, a major open art exhibition representing the Chushin region, will be held from the 20th to the 28th at Matsumoto City Museum of Art in Chuo 4, Matsumoto. On the 13th, works were brought in for Japanese painting, Western-style painting, sculpture, and crafts, with local artists and art enthusiasts presenting a wide range of ambitious pieces. Entries were accepted in general, junior, and member categories; 260 works were submitted across the four departments, and 254 works will be displayed during the exhibition, including 89 selected general and junior works and 165 member works, including posthumous pieces. 中村勤委員長 of the Chushin Art Association said he was pleased that many junior works were large and expressed hope that many visitors would see the work of people engaged in art activities in the Chushin region.
