The participatory art event "AKASAKA ART ACTION" will take place on July 10th and 11th at the Akasaka Address Building, which is scheduled for demolition. Organized by Toshi Techno and Nittetsu Kowa Real Estate, the project views urban renewal not merely as an end, but as an opportunity to create new value by utilizing the building's walls, floors, and passages as exhibition spaces.
Program highlights include exhibitions using salvaged materials, workshops in collaboration with "Suminasu," and a large-scale paint art experience where visitors can draw directly on the building. The venue design features typography by Shuetsu Sato, incorporating elements from construction sites. The event will conclude with live performances by Professor Koichi Wakasugi and his students, turning the process of demolition into a shared artistic experience.
