Ritsue Mitsushima, a glass artist based in Venice and Kyoto, has long worked with uncolored, transparent glass that captures light and changes its appearance with surrounding space and natural environments. To celebrate the fifth anniversary of Bottega Veneta’s Omotesando flagship, she opened the installation "Bottega Veneta Weaving Light" on July 30, showcasing her new piece "KOMOREBI". The title hints at the inspiration drawn from light filtering into the building’s interior and the dappled effect of sunlight, which she translates through the glass’s translucency to highlight the shifting presence of light. The exhibition takes place in the 674‑square‑meter flagship opened in 2021, featuring marble floors named after Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio, glass‑made shelves, and hanging rails, all of which complement Mitsushima’s work and create a dialogue between art and architecture.
