The "Geidai-style Art 'Mikata' Exhibition: Become an Art Student This Summer" will open on July 24 at the Tokyo University of the Arts Museum. This is the first exhibition in a series running annually from 2026 to 2028. The exhibition features 12 "lectures" by current Tokyo University of the Arts instructors, presented as an exhibition within the museum. Visitors can experience a unique form of appreciation by "auditing" art history, practical skills, expression, appreciation, materials, and conservation using the university's valuable collection as teaching materials. The special tutors are the comedy duo Knights (Hane Yoshiyuki and Tsuchiya Nobuyuki). Tsuchiya Nobuyuki, who enrolled at the university in April at the age of 47, commented, "It's truly a dream to be able to study art at Tokyo University of the Arts." The exhibition aims to connect visitors with learning through a structure modeled after university classes. The exhibition runs from July 24 to September 23, 2026, with admission fees of 2,000 yen for adults, 1,200 yen for university students, and 600 yen for junior and high school students.
