The Mixed Reality (MR) work "KAGAMI," which captures Ryuichi Sakamoto's piano performance in 3D, is set for its Japanese premiere at VS. in Grand Green Osaka. Developed over the final four years of Sakamoto's life in collaboration with Todd Eckert and Tin Drum, the project allows audiences to experience a lifelike 3D representation of the artist performing at a grand piano.
Since its world premiere at The Shed in New York in 2023, the exhibition has toured globally. The Japanese presentation will feature not only the immersive 3D visuals and music but also a scent curated by Sakamoto himself. The exhibition runs from June 27 to October 12, 2026.
