101st Kenshin-sama Festival: Kasuga Junior High School Art Club Designs Handkerchiefs!
Summary
In preparation for the summer's major event, the 'Kenshin-sama Festival,' the Kasuga Junior High School Art Club has designed original handkerchiefs. The design features the character 'Gi' (righteousness) in the center, surrounded by 14 tourist spots that symbolize Joetsu, including Kasugayama, the dolphin of Umi-gatari, and the lotus and ornamental carp of Takada Castle Park. Students spent about two weeks on the creation and decided on the color 'ajisai' (hydrangea) by majority vote. The festival's sponsoring association plans to produce 1,700 of these handkerchiefs, distributing them to participants in the 'Sentry Procession' and paid seats for the 'Kawanakajima Reenactment,' as well as to students from Kasuga Junior High School and the elementary schools participating in the pre-festival event. The Kenshin-sama Festival Executive Committee expressed strong approval and intends to consider future sales.
