Bringing the tradition of "Basel Social Club" to an old capsule hotel in Jimbocho: "Tokyo Jazz Club" to be held in Tokyo for the first time this autumn
Summary
"Tokyo Jazz Club," inspired by the Swiss non-profit art platform "Basel Social Club," will make its Tokyo debut this autumn. Scheduled from November 1st to 8th, the event will take place in an old capsule hotel near Jimbocho, utilizing all eight floors of the building.
"Basel Social Club" is a nomadic collective of artists, curators, and gallerists that hosts diverse events in unconventional spaces like factories and private residences. Co-founded by Robbie Okada Fitzpatrick and Yael Salomonowitz, "Tokyo Jazz Club" aims to create a space where artists, galleries, and musicians converge, blending culture with commerce.
The venue is designed to function simultaneously as an exhibition space, a social hub, and a marketplace, featuring art displays, performances, dining, and bars. The event will also collaborate with Art Week Tokyo (AWT), creating a dynamic environment where art and urban space intersect.
