[PR]MMM × artscape Museum Goods Fair vol.2 ── Original Goods from Museums Celebrating Anniversaries
Summary
The second installment of the "MMM × artscape Museum Goods Fair vol.2" is currently being held at MMM (Maison des Musées du Monde) in Ginza, Tokyo, in collaboration with artscape. This event commemorates artscape's 30th anniversary by featuring original merchandise from four museums also celebrating anniversaries: Yokote Masuda Manga Museum, Shizuoka City Museum of Art, Toyota City Museum of Art, and Kyushu National Museum. Artscape writer Natsumi Osawa curated the selection of unique goods. Highlights include a 'Tsurikichi Sanpei' mug showcasing intense artwork and a manhole coaster (Yokote Masuda Manga Museum); a cup featuring the museum's stylish logo (Shizuoka City Museum of Art); an upcycled bag made from exhibition banners and a tote bag faithful to the aspect ratio of a Nami Yokoyama artwork (Toyota City Museum of Art); and unique items based on Haniwa and burial mounds (Kyushu National Museum). Osawa noted that anniversaries offer a prime opportunity to showcase museum themes through merchandise, pointing to collaborations with contemporary artists as a promising direction for future museum goods.
