The translation is by Mario Tauchi, supervised by Takashi Okakura. This new edition includes new commentary by contemporary artist Makoto Aida, who states he was greatly influenced by Okakura, offering a fresh perspective for the current generation. The original work was significant for communicating Japanese and Eastern culture, philosophy, and aesthetics to the West.
